Anderson back after a decade

Vocal impressionist makes welcome return to Balerno

Vocal impressionist, Gerry Anderson, last made an appearance at Balerno Bowling Club around ten years ago, and now he’s coming back, presenting a theatre show in a club venue.

The West of Scotland-based entertainer, who is currently working on a new show which goes into the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on November 15, called Homage to the Stars, will showcase his range of impressions.

Songs from Neil Diamond, Tom Jones, The Rat Pack and even Shirley Bassey will be aired during the performance and tickets priced at £10 are now only on sale from Brian Buckner.

Anderson will be accompanied by his wife, Irene Charlotte Rooney, who plays keyboard and is his sound person, and the show is split into two sections, the first of 45 minutes and the second of one hour.

The experienced entertainer has been on stage for nearly four decades and has worked cruise ships, mainly P&O, and clubs, plus appearing at popular Warner Leisure outlets throughout this country.

Currently, he specialises in corporate and private work, but he has appeared in main theatres throughout Scotland and has showcased his talent on shows headlined by the late Joe Longthorne.

Anderson confirmed: “It is not often a club gets to see a theatre show, but that is what we are bringing to Balerno. It’s over ten years since I have been there and the audience can expect big ballads and big hits.”

He added: “I’m a vocal impressionist as well as a singer and that is what I believe keeps me in business with corporate and private work. My diary is busy and I’m really looking forward to being back in Balerno Bowling Club.”

The date for your diary is Saturday, May 17, and tickets are selling fast for this not-to-be-missed show.
